Bestselling author Patricia Cornwell discussed the upcoming Scarpetta TV series premiering on Prime Video. She credited Jamie Lee Curtis for championing the project and described the surreal experience of seeing actors like Nicole Kidman portray her characters. Cornwell mentioned the series is an adaptation, not a verbatim reproduction of the books, and highlighted her extensive forensic research and dedication to technical accuracy. She noted that the show has already been ordered for two seasons.
Additionally, she shared that her memoir, True Crime, debuting in May, evolved from an autobiographical treatment into a 500-page book incorporating archival materials and journals. Cornwell revealed personal details such as her squeamishness about true-crime TV, early storytelling experiences and her thoughts on aging, health and purpose. Cornwell also previewed her next Scarpetta novel, which features an international master poisoner.
